Annual “Back to School” Drive: Equipping Futures

About Event

Date: January 15–30, 2024
Theme: “Education for Every Child: No Girl or Boy Left Behind”

About the Event:
Education is a cornerstone of breaking cycles of poverty. Priority Hope Foundation’s annual “Back to School” Drive ensures vulnerable children in rural Uganda receive the tools they need to thrive. Many families cannot afford uniforms, books, or school fees, forcing children—especially girls—to drop out. This event mobilizes donors, volunteers, and local partners to distribute supplies, sponsor scholarships, and advocate for inclusive education.

Activities:

  • School Supply Distribution: Over 2,000 kits (notebooks, pens, backpacks, reusable sanitary pads) delivered to schools in Wakiso and Kampala districts.

  • Uniform Sewing Workshops: Local women’s groups create affordable uniforms, providing income for mothers while outfitting children.

  • Community Sensitization: Talks with parents on the importance of education, especially for girls.

  • Sponsorship Launch: Connect donors to children needing long-term school fee support.

How to Help:

  • Donate UGX 50,000 to fund one child’s supplies.

  • Volunteer to pack kits or mentor students.

  • Partner your business to sponsor a school.

Impact Statement:
*“Last year, 1,200 children returned to school through this drive. Sarah, a 12-year-old from Mpigi, now dreams of becoming a nurse.”*
