It’s 6:30 a.m. in our Mukono center, and Lydia, one of our health volunteers, arrives with her first-aid kit and a wide smile. Her Saturdays are spent checking children’s growth charts, treating minor wounds, and educating caregivers about hygiene and nutrition.

Meanwhile, across the courtyard, James is leading a group of children in morning reading. James is a university student volunteering through our Youth for Change program. His time at PHF has helped him discover a passion for community service.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life—students, retirees, medical professionals, teachers—but they all share one thing: compassion.

“I’ve learned more about gratitude here than in any classroom,” says James.

We offer structured volunteer programs with clear roles, training, and accommodation (for long-term interns).

Whether you have 3 hours a week or 3 months, there’s a place for you at PHF.
