When Nakaziba Anisha was only 8, tragedy struck. Her parents died in a tragic accident, leaving her and her baby brother homeless. For weeks, they slept under market stalls and begged for food. Sarah became a mother to her brother far too soon.
When Priority Hope Foundation’s outreach team found her, she was malnourished and traumatized. But she was also brave.
Through our emergency rescue and care program, Sarah and her brother were moved into our child safe haven. They received medical attention, trauma counseling, and daily meals. We enrolled her in school and supported her with uniforms, books, and mentorship.
Today, Anisha is a beaming 14-year-old who speaks fluent English, ranks in the top 5 of her class, and dreams of becoming a nurse.
“I want to help other children like me. I believe I can.”
Sarah is just one of hundreds of children we’ve rescued from danger. With your continued help, we can rescue many more.
